Yesterday I was taking the kids to a haunted house and under light acceleration the trans went back and forth between first and second maybe ten times. At the next stop sign I gave it a bit more throttle and it shifted fine.

On the way home I forgot about it and then realized it was shifting just fine.

Is this where the heartaches start?

I just did a fluid change and band adjustment 2,000 miles ago. I knew I should have replaced that solenoid thingy while I was in the pan....

not to hijack the thread but its kinda the same problem. have a guy who's 06-2004 2500 seems to being the same thing and gets hot real fast. lacks any power and the tranny was replaced under warranty. he says he can smell tranny fluid some times. i looked and his cooler is not clogged up outside, so any ideas

 

Ugggg....

We'll see how it does this week. It may be just a touch high on fluid.... I don't flog it much, but it does have bigger tires....

 

its your governor solenoid and transducer in your valve body easy fix.
