Trans Question Once Again
Trans Question Once Again
I know this topic gets beat to death, but I am actually not looking to make my transmission (06 48re) hold any more power, I just hate the way this things shifts, and would like to improve it. I know this has been asked many times, but I am looking for peoples personal experiences here. DTT has the shift enhancer, and I was also thinking about a Goerend valve body. Does anyone have any personal experience with just adding either of these and its improvement with no other tranny upgrades. Would I need a TC or other upgrades to really feel any improvement in shift quality? I have low mileage (13,000) with no power adders, I am just looking to improve my shift quality. Any info is appreciated.
you can get a valve body and it should stiffen up those shifts a little bit. i did a shift kit in my truck before i put in the built trans and it was a noticeable difference in how hard the tran shifted, so i imagine a new valve body would be even better.

If you put a V/B without a T/C you'll kill your stock T/C in no time. The extra line pressure added by the V/B will force the T/C to lock up and slip at a faster rate. The shift inhancer my help with the 2-3 shift. Have you tried adjusting the bands?
