trans high pressure line.......questions
trans high pressure line.......questions
I think I need #4 in the diagram. I did a few searches already to help understand the task, but have a few questions for those who may have done this already. I have a leak on the upper hose going to the tranny cooler right under the wiper fluid reservoir. I have not torn it apart cause my truck is my daily driver right now.......I was looking foward thru the grill with a flashlight and it looks like the hose is just "pushed" onto a hard line off the cooler.....kinda like the new ice maker filters where you just push your line into the filter and it seals somehow. How do I take it off ?? It appears the part is only $13 ??? Seems kinda cheap to me ? I found this----http://www.dieselmanor.com/dm_products/DM-CLG3.asp in a search but I dont think its the line I need. Help a brother out here ! Thanks
That line that Diesel Manor is selling is actually line #1 in your diagram. Its on the underside of the tranny. I got that same leak going on and want to know how hard it would be. Let me know when you do it as to how hard it was. Thaks

Yep same thing. Warms the fluid when its cooler than the coolant, cools the trans fluid when its hotter than the coolant.
I ordered # 4--hose and #6 --a check valve from the dealer yesterday. $ 45.35 is what I was told. Hope he sticks to this price --- I called around and another dealer wanted 70 some odd dollars for one. Also picked up a piece if 1/2 hydraulic hose and two quarts of tranny fluid to use in case something goes wrong. I was told if I had to, I could just cut the hose/valve at the hardlines and splice the line -- double clamped with 1/2 hose. Theres only 40 psi flowing thru them and the hyd line is rated at 300psi. Theres also some fancy connectors from macmaster you can use. We'll see what happens saturday morning. Oh, oem part number is 5001-0185AB, I couldn't find it on-line anywhere ??
