trans fluid

Hey folks, looking for some input. What do you all say is a good quality fluid to use. I have 24k on the truck and will be changing fluid at 30k.

The Mopar ATF +4 is good stuff. I buy at the local Dodge Dealer (about the only thing I get there) for about $21 a gallon....with a little bit of negotiation.

For warranty purposes, get Mopar ATF+4 at Walmart for $4.42 / qt. That's just under $18 / gal, then add tax. I love Amsoil stuff and run it in everything else, but the Mopar stuff will be in my tranny until the warranty runs out. I do change mine every 25K though.

All I did was drop pan, change filter, add 6.5 qts back so mine was mixed with factory fill. So far so good........

Using Amsoil ATF should not cause any problems with your Dodge warranty. I had my Dodge dealer install 6.5 qts of Amsoil of ATF when they serviced my transmission. The Service Manager even said it would not void my warranty as Amsoil has very good ATF and its better then what Dodge uses.

Another Amsoil in the tranny here... Amsoil makes quality products across the board. I say that even though I use Schaffer's everywhere else.

I do not disagree with you. I am simply stating that all dealers are different and if one is running Amsoil in the tranny during a failure, then they have a significantly tougher case to prove than one running ATF+4. Right, wrong, or indifferent, that's just reality.

I went and asked a dodge dealership how much they charged to change the tranny fluid and they said they wont just change it they flush it only and want 175 dollars. Is there any other way to get all the fluid out of the converter too?
