Tranny slip in cold weather?

Two mornings ago it was about 30 deg. F. outside and the engine block heater had been plugged in awhile so she was nice and warm, but as I drove out the tranny seemed to be slipping as I accelerated (too high revs and not getting much power). Could the cold weather have anything to do with this? Its never happened before, but I didn't idle her too long either because I had her plugged in. 19K miles on her. I've had her mostly in Performance mode on the Bully Dog (what it was in when it slipped too), but have driven a significant amount in Crazy Larry too because it was getting best mpg. I'm not overly hard on the truck either, only towed a travel trailer once (to NM 6 months ago) and not a lead foot.
Its not happened again, but I am concerned, any thoughts?

Do your idle in neutral rather than park. The pump doesn't run in park so neutral will fill the TC etc before you go.

That's true, but 30 degrees is not cold enough to have any effect on the transmission, unless you make a habit of fast rough starts. Even at -30, if the transmission is slipping, something is wrong.

Some TC's will bleed down a bit and cold justs slows the fill. If neutral fixes it, I would doubt there's a serious problem. Not that due diligence and attention are not in order for any future symptoms.

Ok thanks guys. I was idling in park not neurtral, but I will definitely keep an eye on things and see if it does it again and I'll idle in neutral more.

Oh and Billie do you have a lift or level kit to run 315s?

No all stock. Minor rub on the radius arms at full lock. Mine's an 03 though. Some guys have had to trim on later years according to posts on here.

Look great and fixed my ratio right where I wanted it.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
The cold weather shift delay schedule was in effect. Trans temp is not warmed up with engine in your description. Not a problem unless was really slipping. If you still driving = not slipping. Clutch life = gone is less than a minute.
