Tranny shift points??

I tried to get the dealer to change them the other day and they said the couldnt because Chyrsler want let them. Only there programs can be put in. Does anyone now if any place can go into the computer and do it? The way this thing searches for gears is so stupid. On my way to work you mite change gears in a 6 speed about 7 times this auto changes about 50. My fuel miliage is very bad to. In alot of ways I wish I had my 6 speed back.

I'm in the same boat with my 2007, it drives me nuts. My 2004.5 did the same thing. Whoever wrote the code for these trannys must have been. I have gotten in the habit of turning on T/H every time I get in the truck which helps a little with milage.

To me that is the worst part of the dodge trucks. Its the auto tranny. Its to bad that they couldn't build a tranny that had a smoother shift. Mine used to really bang into gear from 1st to 2nd. That was the main reason for me getting rid of it. The truck never failed me. The tranny just drove me nuts. Most of it was not the trucks fault. It was me just being a picky edited by admin. Who knows, maybe we will have to check out the new 6 speeds.

I called chyrsler today and got no where on getting shift points changed. Mine chenges smooth enough but to dang much. If it would stay in a gear and the OD kick in around 35 or 40 I would be pretty pleased with it. Chyrsler mentioned something about aftermarket places doing something.

Still no luck. I called around and no one can help me. I wonder if I had 410 gearing if that would help me? If it would I wonder if anyone would be wanting to do a swap for my 373?

I have 4.10s in my truck and mine searches just the same...it all boils down to DC installing sloppy valve bodies into these trannies. I'm saving right now to just pull that 48RE stocker out and throw in a billet...wife is kinda upset about shelling out enough money for a tranny to buy a used car though...we're working on that though!

It really went crazy today. I was coming out of a curve and I never moved my foot and the tranny dropped a gear and almost went to redline, It was flat section of road to. I am taking it back to the dealer and let them drive it. There is gotta be something they can do.

I use the edge with att. ,besides eng. it also changes shift points and frequent shifting .Mine doesn't shift crazy. Doesn't downshift unless the pedal is pushed on down even when towing .

There may be something wrong with your tranny.Mine doesn't hunt at all, exc. when going slow, uphill, on logging rds.hunts from 1st. to 2nd. I just put it in 2nd. & go. Even around town, my truck will stay in O/D unless,I get on it pretty hard. Then it usually drops to 2nd. shifts to 3rd.,& will stay there 'till,I let off.

On my truck OD kicks in at 42 to 44 mph I wish it would hold third gear lock-up at least to 50mph then shift to OD. I usually turn off OD in town myself if speed limit is around 40 to 45 mph. When it shifts from third into fourth (OD) while gear selector is in OD the RPM's drop from about 1800 or 1900 to about 1300 RPM. It kinda gives you a sensation of lugging the engine. I'm no trans expert so maybe one will post here soon.

Well maybe i got the oddball tranny! Mine doesnt want to go into overdrive until its over 50! I wish it would drop in around 40-45. I would understand it not dropping in until 50 if i was pulling in tow mode, but empty it seems to run way high before downshifting
