TRANNY Shift Points

Can the shift points on the tansmission be changed? I dont like how mine changes gears on my 06 dually. It only goes into overdrive around 50mph and changes to much.

I've not heard of anyone getting their's changed short of buying a new tranny. Might send an email to Georand Transmissions and see what they say. goerend_bros@iowatelecom.net

Look at TSB 18-003-06. Among other things its for "IMproved Automatic Transmission Shifting". I just went to the dealer and told them my tranny shifts sloppy and gave the tech a copy of the TSB. They Flashed my truck and now it shifts like a totally different animal. Now it does not hunt up and down for gear change and its much better shifting. My wife even noticed it....maybe that will help you....this TSB was for production date June 2005 to November 2005....mine was built in October..hand calculated mpg is better as well...

My last one had a 6spd. I can't stand this new auto. The GB torque converter did make a big difference though.

I installed a manual OD/ TC lockup switch on my '98 for that very reason.

not to walk on someones post but is there a reflash for the 05 auto. mine hunts up and down at low rpms and low speeds. if you put your foot in it the shifting is fine.
