Tranny Service?

I was just wondering what would be the best for my pick up, I thought it would be a good idea to get my tranny serviced but i have heard of alot of people saying different things about it like, how I shouldnt change the filter and just change the oil or I just shouldnt do anything to it at all. Any advice would be awsome!

On my dually, i get the tranny serviced around 15-20K miles. I pull a heavy *** trailor though so the tranny gets warm and the oil gets ugly.
On the 2500 that gets no pull time id say around 30-40K..
Why not replace the filter? I would and i do everytime.

Tranny service is never an arguement, it is flush (fluid exchange) vs just dropping the pan. I personally have never had an issue with a flush. Many say you can change the filter every other fluid change, and I agree with this. Do a search and read both sides, then make your decision.

I would change the filter as well. It is a perfect opportunity to take a look at what is in your fluid, and maybe in the pan. A straight fluid flush will replace the fluid, but you are unable to tell if there are any solids that you're not supposed to have floating in the fluid or laying in the pan. When I put my Mag HyTec DD pan on, I epoxied several magnets on the bottom of the pan to catch any errant metal. When I change the filter I can look at the magnets
and check for debris.
So far have not had an issue, but knowing and not guessing gives me a lot more peace of mind.
