Tranny questions
Tranny questions
This morning, leaving for work, I get a tranny indicator light and the OD light comes on and truck goes out of overdrive without me switching it off. Drive along a mile or so and light goes off and tranny shifts as its supposed to. This condition goes on for a couple miles and finally clears up.
Anyone got any clue as to what is going on? I had it do this same thing when I would drive thru high water in the past, but I figured out that the wiring harness to the tranny was getting wet and causing the problem. After it dried out (a couple of miles), it would shift normal. I didn't go thru any water this morning.
TIA

Figured it out. Son told me last night that our 2 dogs were fighting under the truck and he blasted them with a waterhose to break them up. Must have sprayed the electrical connector to the tranny. Soon as it dried out it is back to working as normal. I unplugged it and filled it with dieelectric grease so problem is resolved.
