Tranny leak from bellhousing?

Truck just started leaking a little tranny fluid from the bellhousing. Not a lot, just a little bit. Is this a common problem? I haven't pulled the inspection cover off to look, but if it is a common problem is it a seal on the front of the tranny or coming from the converter seal? Should I be concerned? I'm leaving in a few days to drive from WA to TN to OH and back to TN. I'll be loaded heavy with camper and car trailer. Hopefully it's not a big deal. Thanks for any input,

Brian

sounds like the trans is a little overfull and you got the fluid hot. It probably is coming out the vent behind the comverter and leaking out the inspection plate.

Make sure it's not coolant. There is a small hose up top towards the back on the passenger side about 4 inches long. Check those clamps. This leak was very common on the 06's (mine did it) but not sure about the 07's. It runs down to the bellhousing and then drips under the tranny and makes you think it is tranny fluid.

Ditto on checking to make sure it is not coolant from the infamous hose under the turbo.

Yep, it's coolant. I just drove it to see if I can make it do it again. In the picture, is this the culprit? Also, what antifreeze do these things take? My bottle is a little low. I noticed I had a little antifreeze leak last year, but never found it and it stopped. Just started the other day after a long drive and it was about 10-15 degrees colder that night than it's been all year. Thanks so much for the help!
