Buddy has an 06 auto that has what seems like tc lock up issues. Surges when you come to a stop trying to take off with brake on. He had a shop replace his tc and that didn't fix it. They are telling him he needs his tranny replaced which they want $4300 installed. Any thoughts or ideas on what he might check?

Yes, he might want to find another trans shop. Anybody can remove and replace and a repair would be 8 to 12 hours plus parts.
