Trace= Less than .5%?

I just got back my OUA on my truck. THis time I had a "Trace" of fuel. I called blackstone and they said Trace is usually just under .5%. Normally I have readings of LESS than .5% and once I had a .5% exactly. Is this what others are usually seeing?

Blackstone maintains that anything less than 2% is "within limits" You're fine.

Because all of the fuel charge that is in the cylinder does not burn and does not get pushed out the exhaust. Pistons rings are not a complete seal, after all they are a split ring with a small gap.

I got a sample back before that had a trace of coolant. When I called for an explantion they said it was like having one drop of coolant in 55 gal. of oil. They told me not to be alarmed.

Did you take the sample cold or after a short drive? When I was a newb to UOA I wanted to sample one of my bikes. I rode it around the yard to warm the oil up and to get it circulating. That sample came back with 3% fuel but everything else was in check. Even though it was a carbed bike with not so great fuel delivery, I make sure I take samples after a long drive to get everything up to temp and burnt off.

Probably from idling and running your air conditioning, it's called wet stacking and at a trace level it is simply no concern what so ever.

I had actually towed with the truck all day and only let it cool an hour before I took the sample. When I called they did say it was pretty much undetectable. LOLOL
