Toyo MTs

I just turned 41k on my TOYO MTs today and I still have some more to go! Anyone not like these tires as much as me>? I am thinking of giving the ATs a shot after these are gone but 40K and the MTs are dead sexy. Any guess on mileage difference between the two?

That good to hear. This is what I plan on buying here in the future. How often do you rotate and balance them?

I shoot for every 5k. I would say that that is definitely the trick to getting the miles. I went past my normal rotation schedule moving from CO to CA two years ago and the fronts showed some serious wear. Since then, I have been fairly good about keeping the schedule.

I looked at the Toyo's, but decided I am going to buy a truck tire this time. I have BFG AT's in 305/65R17 and those are E rated but soft as heck.

So I ordered a set of Nitto Dura Grapplers in 285/75R17 which is about 34" tall and a bit narrower than the BFG's. I have my stock 8" rims and that is what the Dura's were meant for in that size.

The Nitto's are rated for over 3900 pounds

I've read some good reports about the Dura's on snow, I hope they are good in the white stuff.... We just got 16" of it in Wisconsin, and more is coming. But really, when I look at what I do with my truck, I need a road tire. Besides, I've had my truck buried to the frame with my BFG's on soft soil... These diesels are NOT off road trucks.

My BFG's have 59,000 on them so far, and have about 4/32" left. But this is with a 5 tire rotation every 5,000 miles. I had to, they go out of balance (round?) so bad the truck would shake. But again, the wheels are too narrow for the BFG 305's. Maybe they'd work better on a 9" rim.

I'm on my 2nd set of 35's right now. I 'm right at 35k miles, I can get at least pull another 5k out of them, at a minimum. That's with rotates every 8k miles and many smokey burnouts.

I've got nearly a brand new set of 37x13.5x17's in my garage waiting to be put on when these are worn out.

We just put 6 A/T's on the '97 and 6 A/T's on the 04.5 Both have less then 5k miles on them, we'd hope to get atleast 40k+ out of them. They both seem to be holding up good in the snow so far.

my 325/60/18 Toyo AT's were done at 20k, not totally, but well into the wear bars. I am hoping the MT's do better, they start off with deeper tread.

I do rotate regular.

"These diesels are NOT off road trucks." by Lost Lake.

Go to the Carli website or DTX- Dodge Trucks Extreme to see some diesels offroad.

X2. Thuren,Carli and Kore equipped trucks rock offroad. By "truck tire" you must have meant "highway tire". The Toyo MT's and AT's are definitely offroad approved.

And a softer compound according to a rep. I talked to at a rock crawling comp. Softer compound=faster wearing.

Got 46k out of my 35x17 MT's and could of ran them another summer. 36k so far on the 37's and looking like they will run to next fall. Company truck has AT's and can't seem to get over 30k.

Anyone who knows me, knows how I maintain my truck, I actually baby it most of the time. The Les Schwab manager was not too surprised, he allowed me $50 a tire towards the MT's.

I tow my 5vr quite alot, I am sure that contributed to the poor performance. I could have maybe ran them 30k with just my truck, not towing, but I was not feeling confident about them with winter comming on, so I purchased the MT's in November.
