have 2004 quad turbo dwr 4x2 auto 3.73 rear edge chip...has launch shudder off dead stop...towing 16.5K lb 5th wheel. Tech letter out...dearler worked on but no improvement...considering exchanging 3.73 for 4.10...some say no, because of lost mileage...

great truck, once at road speed....hate to sell truck...all input appreciated

 

Is the truck a manual or an automatic? How much weight are we talking about here?
If the shudder were caused by the rear end I doubt that a gear change would make any differance. It would probably be a mechanical problem.

 

Did they do the launch/shudder TSB with the trailer hooked for measurments?
