On the '05 you can use a simple trick to keep OD locked out.

With your speed at approximately 55mph, you can manually shift into L2. The trans won't downshift at that speed and will not go into OD.

 

Has anyone reflashed an 05 with an 06 program? Just wondering if this would work to have the 06 features.

 

You can't use the 06 program for the 05's. BD Power makes an add on kit that allows the same contol as the 06's for $250 if you need it. It's tough to find on their site though, go to the pricing page for the Dodge's and you'll find it with transmission controllers.
