Torque specs for shocks
Torque specs for shocks
I am installing Bilstiens on my truck. It is a 2006 2500 4X4 as shown below. Can someone tell me what the torque specifications are for the shock tower bolts and bottom shock bolt in the front, and the top and bottom bolts on the rear shocks? I searched the archives, but couldn't find any information for the newer trucks. Thanks.

Hi Big Iron, Funny we both have same user name.
They started calling me Big Iron years ago at my job since I only worked on all the diesel trucks. Hope this helps.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the lower retainer (4) and grommet (6) on the upper stud. Insert the shock absorber (5) through the spring from engine compartment.
2. Install the lower bolt (4) and tighten to 135 N·m (100 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the upper shock bracket (3) and three nuts. Tighten nuts to 75 N·m (55 ft. lbs.).
4. Install upper grommet (1) and retainer (2). Install upper shock nut and tighten to 54 N·m (40 ft. lbs).

Thanks BigIron, that's about everything I could ask for! I saw that we almost shared the same name on here (I use Bigiron as one word and don't capitalize the I). I have had the nickname for about 36 years. I'm a retired cop and I used to carry a S&W 6.5" 44 Mag. The name got hung on me by my co-workers from the old Marty Robbins song "Big Iron" about the Texas Ranger with the big iron on his hip. I liked it a lot better than some of the nicknames guys got.
