The Toyo M55 is a GREAT and long lasting tire, but I am pretty dam sure they do NOT make it in a 17" size.

That being said, I have run 3 full sets of the Toyo Open COuntry AT2 in a 285/75/17 E and they habe been excellent tires, though NOT long lasting with the weight of my truck (8000#) and the condition of the mountain roads that I drive. Don't expect to get more then 30k out of them unless your truck is a highway queen.

I ran the m55s 285/75/16 on my truck for a set. I really liked the tires except for one thing they were too loud for me. Many people who have run them didnt feel they were too loud but I did. They were an excellent tire in all conditions got good mileage out of them. I have thought about going back to them but they sure have gotten expensive $300ish per tire is a bit much. I know I didnt pay anywhere near that when I bought mine years ago.

Last set of tires I went to buy I looked very hard at the AT II's but availability was an issue at the time they were 200ish per tire.

toyo website shows 5 sizes in 17" while they are e rated the weight rating is on the low side for some reason

I have never run MTR's so I cant say for sure but I would say no. They were not obnoxiously loud like many mud tires are. They were just louder than i liked. I think if you searched on here for toyo m55 you would find people mention that they have some noise but few if any would say they were overly loud and i don't think you would find anyone who didn't like their performance

A bunch of us up here had Toyo AT2's, they're ok when new but when they get down to 50% or so they totally SUCK in the rain, and we get lotsa that up here.
We all went to Cooper AT Maxx and (so far) they're better, we'll see how they are as they wear.
