Tire help

Hey guys, nice site been checking in out for a few weeks now.
This is my second Dodge/ Cummins product. My first was a 93, excellent truck, never let me down but this new one makes it feel/ look like a dinosaur.

Here is my dillema: I want to upgrade to a 315/70/R17 tire and know the rotation is 605 per mile. I have spoken to 4 dealers about this adjustment to the speedo/ odometer and nobody knows what im talking about. All of them say i can only go to 285/75/R17 with the computer calibration.

Does anyone have a step by step, or something i can print off to show these guys where to look once the compter is hooked up to the vehicle? I really want to incease tire size but would like to keep overhead, and speedo intact.

Any help is most appreciated

Thanks

p.s. mt appt is saturday morning, not gonig to do it if i cant find some help.

Welcome to DTR....but you need to fill out your signature with make model year mods to your truck....but I do know that the revs per mile settings are found in the ABS module, but don't be disappointed if yours can't be adjusted that high. They pretty much stick to stock tire sizes in my experiences with playing with this although it's been a few years.

Lot of folks in the 3rd gen forums have been able to get this done.
Movin' it on down there (since it's really not an emergency)

Welcome to the forums, you'll find we're an ok bunch.

Diese,

The revs per mile on the 315's is 601 and it is a simple matter for the dealer to adjust the "pinion factor" with the DRB tool. The tool has settings for a few sizes of tires but it also has a setting for "other" that allows them to set the size by revs per mile. Do a search to find earlier threads on this and then find a dealer that has a clue to make the adjustment. Takes about three minutes.
