TIPS module- AKA voltage regulator $$$$$
I have a 06 Dodge CTD 43000 mi. The TIPS module started going hay wire and doing weird things. It would keep my trailer brakes on sometimes almost till it ground me to a halt. it would keep the brake lights on for about ten min. for no reason. Now I can't have the interior lights on more than 15 seconds or they shut off. The dealer re-flashed it for a C-note, said it might not last. it lasted one day. the new TIPS (total integrated power system - AKA sucks !) is $640 plus $200 to install and re-flash. Yeah, $840 bucks! I dam near fainted!
Has anyone else had one of these go bad on them? How long are they supposed to last? You can buy a laptop for what one of these pieces of junk cost.
