Those with good moog ball joints.
Those with good moog ball joints.
I bought XRF Joints and had a reputable shop do the install. One of the lower XRF joints cracked and it would have taken 3 days to get another, they had no way of leaving it on the rack for 3 days and said they usually install Moog and have had no issues. I was stuck so I said ok. Now I am in fear from all the negative posts about moog. I know there are some that are happy so I'd like to hear from you.
You also have to consider how many moog joints get installed vs others. yeah im sure people have had problems woth moog but i can tell you i installed a set on a buddies truck 20k miles ago and he still seems happy with them. I cant say they are good or bad either way. course i did give him greif cause he will take it to the dealer for brakes and oil changes......give them all the gravy and I get all the dirty, hard work.......LOL

I installed moog b-joints well over 100k miles ago and they still seem good. The truck does have a little wander to it going down the road but nothing that can't be compensated for.

I did ball joints, u joints and brakes about 8k miles ago. I did notice some odd steering characteristics, but i just replaced the worn out 285/75/17 toyo a/t's with some Mich ltx m/s2 285/70/17 and all the oddness went away. I think some of the issue was that the tires wore odd due to the miles on the bad joints and when I put the new joints in the tires where causing some steering issues. Now its butter smooth, turns easy, comes back to 0 easy. I even hit some curves in the truck lol, the steering response was good and point on, no wandering, no sticking nothing... Just like new.

Here is a link to the exploded views of a Moog joint. They are not likely to break, they are just cheaply made and don't have a machined ball, so the ball is not round. This leads to galling and stiffness.

? i installed a set on my 06 at 65K and now have 133k with no issues. they have lasted longer than the factory ones and my truck is a work rig hauling heavy loads or pipe and 10,00lb trailers all the time.
so i have had great luck with mine.
