test drove an auto 600

I just test drove a new 600 Cummins with the 48 trans. Boy did the new trans shift nice, but where's the beef?? My old 99 with the comp on 3 would surely take it. Couple HO owners really think there new trucks run, what would they think with a chip!

I agree about the trans. I think it shifts very nice, quick and crisp. I have to disagree about the 600's power. I test drove one this weekend and it was great. Remember, you're comparing a brand new 600 to your multi-mile '99 with a lot of upgrades on it, according to your signature anyway. The DTT trans, injectors and box have to count for something. I don't understand why some people are comparing their aftermarket-loaded Cummins to the 600 and then saying the 600 is a dog. Of course it's going to feel that way. For a real comparison, return your '99 back to stock, drive it for about a month like that to get used to the power, and then test drive another 600. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Come on GUYS, give this new 600 a chance ! ! ! ! !

I'm sure down the road everyone will be very happy.

Went from an 01 (w/mods) to an 02 (w/mods) to an 04 (600) stock. This 04 600 is the best truck yet. It has great stock power - With mods it will rip!

Very Happy 04 Owner...

Picked up my 04.5 CTD auto today, that is a very nice tranny, very civilized shifting! I just love this truck!

i feel the same way when i drive my moms 99, it feels sluggish after driving my truck but i know it would get me in the top end. are there any chips in the making for the new 600. my dad ordered one a month ago, and that would be sweet if he could get a chip for it

You should drive my stock '94 (160hp auto) then the 4.5 rocket. I did and that is why one's on order with my name on it.
