temperature fluctuations and soft upper rad hose

More questions about the CR this time..

It does not overheat, but gets to the high idle for about 20 seconds when put in park.. after a good highway run with a small trailer in tow..

symptoms are

Temperature fluctuates up to about where the high idle kicks in, and down to about 190 or so, and goes up and down as the miles go by (24 mile pull with an empty 1500 ft lb trailer) Truck gets up to highway speed easily, AC does not cut off, cools great, heater also blows very hot, tried that too, coolant levels are where they should be, so theres no leaks in the system at all, which seems good, IT seems that it circulates alright, theres no bubbling of any type, just looks like it rises and falls very slightly without the Radiator cap off.. There are no DTC codes other than the 0483 for fan speed and 0573 for the brake light that sticks.

When i see the temp go right to the high idle level, and put it in park, i get off and check underhood, Fan clutch is goin and goin hard, so its coolin the motor i notice that the upper radiator hose is slightly sucked in, and as the high idle drops the pressure also seems to alleviate on the hose.. as temperature drops, the hose also has less pressure. and FC is still goin hard. My question is, why does the upper hose suck in? is that normal? Im guessing that the hose is hot to the touch because of the circulating coolant, even so, my coolant overflow bottle is right where it should be, and even opening the radiator cap, i can see coolant at the top. but im guessin it should not suck in, and well if the truck is really overheating, should be really hard to press shut, and i should see steam.. i see no steam, and hose is hot as all can be, but still easily pressed..

naturally when the truck is under load or getting going, the temperature goes up, then it goes back down, when im cruising...

I am concerned because im gonna start hauling horses alot more, and alot more feed and equipment here very rapidly for tows around 100 miles round trip and dont want to have problems, with the upper hose, or with the truck overheating.

far as parts go here is whats new to it..

New T stat 190 degree
New Upper hose
New lower hose
new radiator, old one was cracked
new ECT sensor
new radiator cap
new coolant 50/50 mixture as called
AC system was also serviced and cleaned

anything to worry about or should i just load the wagon and go?

thanks!

Rick
