TC switch

What am I missing? I connected a switch from pin #7 on the round plug on the transmission and I ground the other end to the metal bar across the bottom of the dashboard. Then I jumpered relay #59 from pin #30 to pin #87not 87a. I got NOTHING, no switching of any type at any speed, what did I do wrong? The truck is the 05 in my sig......Thanks

Bad ground or you shut the relay down with the jumper. Don't jump the relay block as it will eventually cause problems and does not work the same with every truck.

Simply put a 33 OHM 1/2 Watt resistor between the switch and ground. If you use a lighted switch you will see it light when you are overriding the lockup.

Yes, the grounded end of the connection.

The idea is to provide a ground path for the lockup solenoid in the trans to close but still provide enough of a signal to the ECU so it doesn't think it is shorted. The ECU expects 5 OHM's to 100k OHMS when it engages lockup or it will shut down the relay and go into limp mode. The resistor fools the ECU when it opens the lockup circuit.

Thanks, I bought a 33 OHM 1/2 watt resistor tonight along with a switch.
Hope to put in in tomorrow.
