I get so confused. Truck has 69kmiles. I just pull my trailer with it. Stock LP still seems strong. I dont intend to ever put any mods on it. Without rehashing or re-starting any debates--if the LP does start going, what would be my best option for replacing it.

you have an externally mounted pump..... unless you got the retrofit by the dealership to an intank pump.
your choice what you want to do. id just carry a spare and have a decent pressure gaure on your truck

If your CP3 doesn't have the lift pump on the back of the high-pressure pump, it will not draw fuel from the tank - see also my thread on CP3 operation -

Sorry, should have posted my above question in a new thread but appreciate the response. Guess the bottom line is, would I be better off getting the retrofit prior to warrenty expiration (i know the LP can fail if I "will" it) or do you think I would be better off continuing with my external set up (esp if I carry a spare).

IMO, if DCX has no reason to replace the oem Carter under warranty, the easiest option is to get a spare replacement duplicating what is already there, or get the upgrade version from Geno's garage, as some have found that oem Carter to be discontinued by DCX - that will be the easiest to replace on the side of the road when the oem lp fails, wouldn't you agree?

Thank you gmctd. Guys, correct me (please) if I am wrong. As I understand it, the in-tank set up is more reliable and slightly more efficient than my current stock LP but the external LP is far easier to work on.
My question should have been: For my stock truck, if given the option--A: Would you rather have the dealers in-tank conversion or-
B: the external replacement pump from Geno’s.
My current plan (unless it changes) is to order the external one from Geno's to keep in the trailer unless you guys feel the in-tank set up is better in the long run.

nope i was directed at bark.
in bark's case i would keep what works and wait. mine got the tank pump 30 days before the warranty expires due to the "dealership determining the pressure and flow were low"
i would carry the spare in the truck.
