T-Case

I have 169,000 mi on truck , and like 10 sled pulls.

Has anyone had problems with there T-Case, like rebuild them? (New bearings & chain?)

I have a vibration in my truck and I think it is the T-Case. The front flange off the T-Case is loose, (up and down) that is leeding me to belive the T-Case needs some new parts. Bearings and mabe new chain??

I bought a NP 271 T-Case two years ago to put in my mud truck (used power stroke T-case still good) The one in my truck is a NP-273. Dose anyone know if the internals are the same, could one swap parts around like bearings and chain??

Looking to save some $$$ not working much these days. Unless a reman or somthing that is going to be dependable that is not worth the hassel for a good price??

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Internals of 271 -273 are identical as far as can tell except for the shifting variations. NOt sure if that is internally same. Chain at dealer may be the cheap place. Have gotten two from dealer for 130 or so apiece. Was unavaliable from aftermarket at time and was 200 dollars per.

When riding in the fast lane next to a barrier wall I could hear the transfer case. That's about the only tell tale there was. The first one went bad cause the previous owner left it in 4x4 runnin down the highway through a few states haulin a trailer.
The second one (brand new) I trashed cause I drove it with no rear driveshaft for a week. (shaft was getting rebuilt by shop after bad u joint wiped it out and caused a nice dent in the fuel tank protector).
The current one only gets used when absolutely needed. Even in the snow, I only use it for starting and stopping.

LET OFF THE THROTTLE and roll the window down :-) I've got 5" miters and could still hear it.

First one I got from the dealer for like 1100 with a 3/36 warranty. Second one I bought of a DTR member out of a wrecked 05. It was out of an auto so I had to swap the input shafts. No big deal though.

Yep, the parts are interchangeable. The "2" means two speed case and the "7" is the torque capacity. The "1" means electric shift and the "3" means manual shift.

I have the 273 and it is electric shift, you sure you don't have them turned around?

I have found one out of a 07 that is a good deal I know it will bolt up fine but would it trow a code cuz of the wireing or is that fine..?
