Ok experts, Has any one had this type of issue? I drive out early one morning and truck starts normal I stop for coffie. After I restart truck runs a little rough. I take off and the engine shakes badly including loud valve knocking and smokes the whole street like a New England dense fog. Truck shuts off after I let off. It post a engine check light, Restarts ok! Shakes a little more and clears up now running with no issues for a week, And has no engine check code posted This is the second time it has happend in six months. except the first time it did not shut off! Did not get a engine check light. I was on the highway and it just cleared up after a loss of power for a couple of seconds. I checked for water in fuel and found none also replaced the fuel filter all this after the first time. I have 85K miles on it and have the Maximum care coverage to 100K as well as 11 months left. I really want to solve this before the dam thing kicks a rod after my warranty runs out. That would be bad!

What year truck, any mods, etc.

 

I had a similar incident on my truck when the #4 injector shorted out, made #4,5, & 6 not fire. Died, restarted running rough, smoked bad, killed it and restarted, injectors went back to firing just long enough to limp it to the dealer for repairs.
