Did you guys figure out the issue? My 04 is doing the same thing. No leak from the water pump. Seems like it could be the thermostat. It has never been changed in 200k miles. Water pump and clutch fan were both changed at around 100k.

It was the fan clutch, sometimes it would engage sometimes not. Finally caught it showing locked but shut the truck off and the fan was free wheeling. Auto zone replacement, 200, lifetime. The one on it was 550 and 12 months old, they offered to exchange it for 300, nice guys.

Mine seems to be toast as well. Never heard it turn on tonight while driving home from work. How is the Auto Zone one compared to the Mopar one?

It seams fine. The shop put a new one on mine when the computer went out so it was about a year old. They pro rated it and wanted 300 for another one. The auto zone was 200and they will never question the warranty if it fails. I rented both fan clutch kits, use one that fits the nut then a larger one that spins on the nut but you can wedge it against the mounting bolts and spin it right off. Had my 15 year old help and we were able to take the nuts off the shroud and collapse it and wiggle the assembly out, took about 30 minutes to replace. Garage told me it was a 2-3 hour job, must have included breaks😂
