I recently replaced pads on all 4 wheels on my truck. Its an 03, 60k miles 2wd. The last couple of days I've noticed an intermittent noise that I would describe at a bit of a slap type noise that I hear while driving in the 25-40 mph range. What will happen is let's say I need to slow down and come to a stop. So I'll let off the accelerator and since the engine quiets I'll hear this slapping noise that will just go "slap...slap...slap.." and I apply the brakes it goes away. Let off the brakes and it comes back, re-apply the brakes and it returns. I have no strange noises while turning or anything of that nature nor do I have any strange noises while I accelerate. This noise is very intermittent and I haven't been able to pinpoint it. I aim to check it out later today after work.

Anyone have some ideas? Maybe something isn't quite right after the brakes? Any other ideas?

same sound mine made when the wheel bearing went out.

 

Is there any possibility that the brake hardware isn't quite right? I never noticed this until I did the brakes and then it occurred after that. I've only noticed it a couple of times though...

If it is the wheel bearing, what am I looking at for total cost? if I can get it warrantied I will, but I'm not counting on it. I do have a mechanic that does work for me sometimes on the side and gives a good labor rate. But what is expected time and cost of parts?
