Not going to hurt anything, unless it's a 6.7 and you don't have a good delete kit.

The turbo provides any back pressure needed.

That, and it's loud! I like mine...

All the straight pipe 3rd gens I have heard are loud...(my opinion)
It's definitely not going to hurt anything...if anything it will be better off, but you'll probably be happiest with a Cat delete and your choice of high performance/straight through muffler.

I think I'm going to have to straight pipe mine to hear it, or I'm going deaf. I have a straight threw cat., and a straight thru MBRP muffler, and to me it sounds stock. Now it did sound good with just the head pipe off the turbo though.

It sounds great for about a week.

Then you get sick of your ears ringing when you get out of the truck and go into the movies. LoL

I went with no CAT and a straight thru type muffler. I can stand it now...

Pros: released backpressure, makes the truck sound more like a truck
Cons: drone, raspy sound, obnoxious at times, ticket prone.

Better to just do a hi flo muffler and get the best of it all.

I like the straight pipe. Sounds like a truck... However, you are not gonna sneak up on anyone.. Leaving the house early in the morning?? The whole neighborhood will be up and ******.. Straight pipe it, but KEEP your orginal equipment in case ya wish to go back.

I had a 5" MBRP turbo back exhaust (no catalytic converter) and it sounded really good with the MBRP muffler. I then installed this:
