I know this thread is a bit dated, but I am trying to do the same thing your friend did, only on my '07 3500. I see what he did with the U-bolt for the inboard side of the steering damper skid plate, but what exactly did he bolt to on the outboard side? Is there anyway I can get some more info on this or possibly get in touch with him? Please let me know. (I will also PM you on this).

Wow, thought this was dead and buried I got mine and created a "how to"
thread on the install..It includes the part number as it was then.
