Angry Steering box dribbling..*SIGH*!

Ok, my steering box is leaking at the top through the steering shaft end. My question is, Does ANYONE make a re- sealing kit for the box? I can't afford a new box at the moment. Just seems to me that there should be one hopefuly someone here knows! Thanks for your time!

Take the cap off the PS pump and clean out the vent. My box leaked for somewhere around 20k miles before I did that, and it has been great ever since! Do a search on here and look for the thread. It remarks about making a hole in the rubber in between the 2 pieces of the cap, but I just used about a half a can of brake clean on mine, and it has been awesome, with absolutely zero leaks for about 20K now.

I sprayed the cap down a little with brake cleaner and it seems to be helping a little! It still drips but not as much as it did! I've the holes for venting under the O-ring but, where does it vent out? Not a very good desogn if ya ask me!

If you look at the actual dipstick part of the cap, there is a hole on either side of it. Those are where I sprayed the heck out of the cap at. I used the little plastic tube, to really get it in there too. CAUTION! Use some safety glasses! I got a little in my eyes ( YES I KNOW BETTER! ) and that took a little to get over! LOL

I pretty much decided that if mine ever does it again, I am going to drill a hole in the top, put a tube in it, and run a hose up to the firewall with a fuel filter on the end of it! It works for differentials and treansfer cases, why not power steering?!?!?!!

Someone on here also has a post about taking the cap apart. Can't say how, but the made the hole bigger in the plasic while it was apart.
