Stalling problems- A big thanks to many of you
Stalling problems- A big thanks to many of you
So my 04 began stalling, difficult to restart, would run for a day, or 30 min or whatever it wanted to and then stall again. After searching the forums I found the lift pump failure issues and had my wife tow me to a dealer (she did great, but boy did she have a nervous breakdown). It's a sad sight to see a Durango towing a Ram 2500 Cummins! (the Durango did awesome and with 137k miles has never let me down!)
I had to fight the dealership because they weren't sure that is was the lift pump because I had no engine light inspite of the P0628 code. Then they tried to tell me it wasn't covered under warranty!
After waiting over the weekend for Chrysler Customer Assistance to re-open on Monday I was able to call and verify IT IS covered under warranty! But you have to tell them it is and that it is the Cummins 100k Engine warranty, not the powertrain warranty which is only good for 70k. After arguing with the dealership for a bit they agreed to install the retrofit kit that goes in the tank.
Just remind the idiots to reconnect your tank filler tubing when the put the tank back in,https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...mashfreakB.gif
otherwise they spill diesel all over the freeway when they take it for a 6 mile "test drive"!https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ew1/madani.gif

The pump can start to fail and you may not realize it, at least I didn'thttps://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/new1/duhhh.gif
, and it is nice to see that big cloud of black smoke again when I pass some idiot is doing 15mph in a 40!
So A big thanks to all who have posted help hints about this issue, my hat is off to you!

Why is it that the customer seems to know more info than the dealer and Dodge. It's as if when they send them through training(if they even do) they tell them to play completely dumb with the customer. I'm baffled every time I read one of these stories about getting warranty work covered, they seem to know ZERO about their product/warranty. I guess that's one of the reasons why they lost millions if not billions of $$ this past year.
