The gear doesn't have to be changed. On our 06s they flash the TIPM. Sadly a lot of service guys at the dealerships are kinda ignorant to truck specifics

What part of Tx you in?

The deealer simply doesn't know what to do. These trucks have not had a gear drive in the speedometer since 1996. The speed is derived from the ABS sensor on the rear diff. The ABS module provides the signal to the ECU.

The settings available in the ECU are just a limited set of tire sizes instead of a pinion factor like the earlier trucks. If you don't have a set of tires thta matches the standard it is still off. Smarty actually updates the ABS module with a tire height factor to allow small corrections.

I concur. The dealer said they got mine closer but not exact because they ran out of settings or something like that.

Op, if you can, do get a programmer that can get the speedo corrected. Its still on my list, just can't spent $400 on one right now.

Take it to the dealer and ask for the old trans gear back when he's done...

You need to find someone with a Smarty.... It's an easy change to make and it stays after the Smarty is removed.

And yes you can make minute adjustments the dealer cannot make.

I adjusted my bro-in-laws and he drove his truck to verify the speedo was on while I left the level 3 program on.... You should have seen his face... WOW!!!

It will instantly transform your truck and you will love it.
