Sometimes the truck just can't catch up..
Sometimes my truck will flat out fly from a stop with no problems. But sometimes it seems like the rpms get ahead of the turbo and and it seems like it can't catch up and the truck is just a dog. It's almost like it's running out of air, but it doesn't always do it. I have noticed that since I've gone to level 5 on the EZ that the filter minder now pulls down to 65% instead of 35%. I've drilled holes in the bottom of the air box but maybe it's time to open it up and make me a ram-air system. I've got a K&N cone filter for an 2000 Mustang GT. I wonder if it will flow enough cfm for the little 6 cyl......

Dodgezilla,
Funny you should mention this. I was going to post the same thing this morning. Mine very occationally does the same thing under a fairly specific set of circumstances:
1. Hot and humid outside
2. Truck is at operating temp
3. You stop the truck for a short (minutes) period of time
4. You start to accelerate at a brisk rate from low rpm's
If I did not know better, I would say it feels like the truck is trying to vapor lock! It always clears up in a matter of seconds. Has happen maybe a half dozen times this summer. Various settings of my Volumizer have no effect.

Dogzilla, I noticed you have the 47RE tranny, It may have somthing to do with the shift points of the tranny. I have seen the same thing even before I installed the Banks Six Gun. If I catch it just right from a stand still, it will flat out run like hell, however if I miss it then then it sort of runs flat until I cn get it upshift.
I don't think it's intake air related, but related to the tranny and various computers that control it all

It's quite possible SuperGewl. Sometimes when it happens it gets to where it needs to shift and then fall flat on it's face. Who knows? One day I'll figure this truck out.....

The other question is, is it up to temp when you see these problems??? The tranny will not shift properly until the fluid is up to temp, the computer won't let it. I also noticed it right after I had the dealer do the filter and band adjustment to the tranny, I had to add some fluid about a week later

This ones kind of weird, mine wih the 47re used to do it fairly often, but ever since i bumped the EZ up to level 5 it'sbeen great. I have extra air in and out, so i would of thought it a fueling problem too. That doesn't jive with Dodgezilla though... hmm

Mine was fully warmed up the last time it happened. I had just driven about 15 miles. One thing I have noticed is that with the EZ on level 5 my filter minder pulls down to 65% instead of the 35% it had done since new. I wonder if it's time for a better air intake?.?.
It doesn't happen all the time, just at the wrong time. Like when someone is messing with me..

does your truck ever feel as if it were pulling a 10k load when it's really not?
By the way, I like the homemade BHAF Mark. Any idea how many cfm it flows. What's the part number on the filter?
