snow and air cleaner box
snow and air cleaner box
put a brand new air filter in my 04 dodge ram 2500 on saturday-then the wife and i took a nice weekend drive. drove through snow most of the way-nothing really bad. happened to pop the hood today and saw that the air filter gauge said that it needed to be changed-again!! i checked the air filter and the box was filled with ice and snow!! this a common occurence on these trucks?? anybody else have this problem before? thanks
Air box snow
My 03 and now my 05 have both done it. Seems to me that the snow condition has to be just right before it happens. The super light kind almost like smoke that is swirling on the road. The heavy wet stuff will not plug it. If you encounter that kind of snow condition you will plug a filter in about 300 miles. I have found no way arroud it. I'd keep a couple on hand to change. We do see winter in Montana and this is not the only truck or auto that I have seen it happen with. I guess I will just live with it.
