I put in the EZ Edge tow pro about 4000 kms ago, and it has performed very well. While on holidays last week pulling my trailer it starting bucking, smoking, and snorting and I thought it was gonna quit. Then when I put my foot in it(about 2500 rpm), it would smoke really bad and make a really loud knocking sound, so I drove it as gentle as I could. After about an hour or so, it seemed like it was running smooth again but would smoke and knock bad if pushed. Right before it starts knocking it smokes heavily. I limped into our campsite, and disconnected the tow pro. I took it back out for a drive, and could make it smoke and rattle if I pushed it really hard(but not near as bad with the chip connected). I ran the fuel as low as possible(thinking maybe i got a bad batch of fuel), and it seemed to get better after filling up with fresh diesel. At the end of our holiday, I hooked up and pulled my trailer home(chip disconnected) and I think it smoked once or twice, but ran fine. After i got home, I hooked the chip back up and again it smoked and rattled bad. I have since put my chip on another 2003 and it performs perfectly, so whatever is wrong with my truck, the chip seems to make it worse. By the way, with the chip disconnected it runs fine and does not have any abnormal noises.....sorry so long, any ideas?<br>

Take the module off and see if that corrects the concern, since the box controls your timing curve, it might be coming in to fast. But if it worked fine with another 03, then there might be some thing wrong with the CPU on the truck.. OH MISTER DEALER...
