Rattling Boost Gauge

Repost from HELP:

Installed new boost guage 4 months ago. This is the second time I've installed one. First truck works great. 2d installed gauge seemed to work good, but "rattled" or "vibrated" internally as boost built, and stopped making these noises as soon as boost leveled off. I pulled the gauge out of the pod to see if the other gauge or hardware was the culprit, but it is definately coming from the gauge. I'm also using plastic tubing.

I replaced the gauge and it still does it. I also noticed on the first install the 3/4 inch fitting I used (mounted it right next to the MAP sensor port) wasn't completely snug and that the threads on the engine intake were dirty. I cleaned the threads, tightened the fittings and ops checked the gauge - noise lessened but is still there.

ANYONE EVER HEAR THIS NOISE COMING FROM THE BOOST GAUGE?

Yep mine did it then stopped there are a few that have the rattle as well. You could try putting a small length of rubber hose in there instead of the synlex that might help or maybe a one way check valve.

Where would you install a checkvalve? How does it work in relation to this application? I'm going to take your advice about splicing in a rubber line; I just figured I kill two birds with one stone and consider the checkvalve as well.

Re:Rattling Boost Gauge

Just mount the chechvalve inline with the boost coupler if you can if not inline I suppose. I would try the rubber first though almost guaranteed to solve it.
