Well for all of those of you out ther with the black smoke on the 600 610 series cummins good news may be down your street

For some odd reason, , As i have no idea why, The smoke has stopped. I dont know what caused it to stop, The only thing that ive done diffrent was runnin the tank close to empty( long road trip) I would attribute it to the fuel in the last tank, but its been doing it for 4-5k miles. Dunno what i did to fix it, bout 3 tanks ago i put a good dose of power service in. Maybe it sunk to the bottom of the tank? Anyone have any ideas?

 

im happy for you,no doubt about it the POWER SERVICE didnt hurt it any,curious,how many miles on your truck,not broken in till 20k miles, maybe just needed a good long hot run.congrats just the same!

 

Well, about 4 days ago we went muddin, tell ya what, a stock 04 ram diesel just doesnt cut it as nice as id hope ha ha. but did good none the less. Rained some heck on the front drive shaft, figured thats where the new vib was comming from. Now its purty dominate, And if ya put her in 4x4 at hwy speed now ya get this waa waa waa waa noise. I also found some play in the CV joint off the front of the transfer case, just cant figure outwhere in there its comming from. Think it might be the output shaft.

Anyway. Then we went on the road trip smoke all the way out, all the way back. And up until i filled up. Now she wont do it. Yeah i admit i try it. Sometimes its fun. Get the fun without the cost of all the hop ups :P but now shes done it seems. Maybe shell come back who knows. Shes only got around 13k on her So lotta breakin in to do, Also the white smoke on the start up is gone? I have no idea whats going on, And im a diesel mechanic :P Maybe thats not something to admit now?
