sluggish throttle response?

I have been trying to track down the cause of poor throttle response for quite some time now, and I've had a few recommendations to join this site, so here it goes!
I have an '05 3500 DRW, with the Banks 6-gun bundle, and a Suncoast loaded tranny. (converter, valve body, clutch kit). Other than that, its stock.
I also have an '04 3500 that is the identicaltruck, but without the HO. The '04has much better throttle response, and gets moving quicker. What do I have going on here? I would like to continue adding more modifications, and I was considering a different turbo. Would this help?
If I am towing anything, I hit the throttle to get away from a stop, and it seems to take a few seconds after the pedal goes down for it to start moving. The dealership is worthless at figuring out what is going on. I have driven enough other '05's to know there is something not correct here.
Turbo? computer? Injectors?
The truck has about 32k on it.

have you tried replacing the fuel filter and the air filter? Also I have heard that if the air flow sensor in the intake tube gets dirty it may cause poor acceleration

I haven't changed the fuel filter yet- I know.....
I'll check it, but I'm pretty sure it's done it since new.
What do you use to clean the sensor?
I have a washable filter, and that has been done a few times, and recently.

Change the fuel filter first. Also do the fuel tank vent mod (2 rollover valves that can suck in water and dirt) to make sure you do not have any injector issues because of contamination. Have you ever changed the fuel filter?????
With a tight torque converter the truck will be somewhat sluggish down low. It's just putting the torque to the rear wheels which is fine.

What is the vent mod?
I have noticed the lack of movement since the tranny was built, but I only have about 3k miles on the newly built tranny. The dealership told me I broke the torque converter!!???
I am looking past the time it takes to move the truck, and feeling the sluggishness in the motor. Could it be something with the electronic pedal? It does the same type of thing when trying to pass cars on the road. I't not as bad when the chip is turned up, but I usually like to drive it on #3 or 4.
It just seems like when I mash the pedal, it takes forever for the motor to catch up.

I would check to see if you have enough fluid in the tranny. This could very easily cause an issue like this. Make sure you check the tranny fluid with it running, emergency brake on, and in neutral. I see you have a VB also, it may flow fluid to the cooler in park but I would check it in neutral just to be sure.

You'll have to forgive me, I haven't figured out all of the terms you guys use here, but what is the VB that I have? The tranny has just been rebuilt, and I have checked it to be sure since I didn't trust the dealership, and it is fine. It doesn't seem to be a tranny issue, just for the fact that the motor takes so long to get going.
