You don't have to ground the ECM. There is a right way to do it.

I noticed a difference right away when I put bigger tires on the truck, but lately it seems to bet getting worse. It also feels weird driving straight as well, some play in the wheel and it pulls to one side, then for no reason, to the other. It feels like a hydralic issue, just by the way the wheel feels and it only started about a week ago.
The high idle idea doesn't seem like a good one to me. You shouldn't have to rev the engine just to have easy steering, IMO.

People are grounding the ECM so they don't have to spend money on a clutch switch. The same switch will allow you to activate the fast idle feature also.

That's exactly the same symptoms I see, but my steering wheel play is still tight. It just likes to take sides. As for the high idle, I agree with you on that. I just thought that giving it a little more rpm will speed the beltdrive a little quicker, flowing more fluid and thus making more steering power at a standstill or when creeping.

It seems we're the only ones with this problem?

No, you're not the only ones. My truck does it on occasion.

Mine does it from time to time. It feels like the pump is not pushing enough pressure at idle.
