Slight vibration when truck starts to move

Last year I purchased my first diesel, a 2006 3500 mega cab. The truck is stock (but hopefully not for long). Ever since I had the truck, when I start moving from a dead stop there is a slight vibration. It lasts only a second or two. You can feel it in more in the steering wheel but can feel the quick vibration throughout the truck. I have been in my passenger seat and felt it slightly vibrate the truck. Is this normal or is it something I should have the dealer check out? Thanks.

I would also like to hear what this may be. I have noticed that my 03 (48re) will "shutter" now for just a second when accelerating under a load from a stop (pulling my trailer). Is this the start of torque converter problems, tranny, driveline??? Never had a problem prior.

I'm sure someone with more knowledge can chime in. But My new rig a 07 2500 quad cab does it since the day I picked it up, my 97 Ford F350 crew cab always did it before and after the lift, since new. I think its the carrier bearing on the rear driveshaft and just nature of the beast because of the length.

Mine started doing the exact same thing after i put new tires on it. I noticed it when i left the tire shop and am certain it wasnt doing it with the old tires (BFG original factory tires). The new tires are stock size but with an offroad tread. Firestone destination MT's. I am thinking maybe i need u-joints? BTW my truck is the shortbed.

Mine does the same thing mostly when making a slight turn at first movement. After changing the rear diff fluid it now does it all the time. I got out in the yard on some wet grass just checking it out and it seems to be the anti-spin rear end engaging. You can hear it on the wet grass making a right hand or left hand turn with the windows down. I have pulled my 5'ver with it with no problems, everything seems normal. Could you be hearing feeling the same thing. It is almost like running over a small rumble strip. Everyone I have talked to seems to think it is just the AAM axle doing its job. Just my .02 hope it helps.

Thanks everyone. I have also been pulling a 5th wheel and have had no problems, just the wierd quick shutter, but the truck pulls it like a champ. It sounds like it is not a big deal, but I would like to hear if anyone thinks otherwise.

I had a similar vibration while towing my fifth wheel also, my drive shaft carrier bearing was bad.
I replaced my u-joints and drive shaft carrier bearing.
The bad news is no one makes an after market carrier bearing for my 04 so I had to buy it from the *******.
The hole thing cost 310.00 not bad for 138,000 mi.

Mine did it when i drove it off the dealers lot (new). did a u turn, dealer put in a complete drivedraft with joints and shimmed the carrier bearing.
50,000 miles on it now less the acceleration studder.
