I just bought this 06 w/ 5.9 the dealer said they just had injector work. On my old 01 It had 186000 original injectors ran great! Question is what symptoms do i look for when injectors are going bad. Rouh Idle i read what else? And do you have to replace all of them at once. I did purchase an warranty program thru the dealer that actually covers injectors. So I want to make sure when it needs them. From the sounds of it it will be cause of the 06 model. Thanks

 

rough idle, white smoke, diesel in the oil are some of the symptons. if you change your fuel filter often or put a lower micron one on you will have less of a problem

 

Thanks what is the best micron fuel filter to use and brand I use to use a napa brand in my 01.

 

i would run the 3 micron fleetguard filter from cummins. staying away from bio diesel will also help to increase injector life

 

GDP makes a 2 micron filter kit.
