the part about stalling to shutdown is pretty much accurate. But imagine all that rotating mass just suddenly stopping. heck yeah it shakes. so does mine.
there is one thing i've heard will reduce this and that's a fluidampr harmonic fluid dampener. can't speak from personal experience. just the word on the street. anyone have one and willing to chip in?

I always say it's just 17:1 compression coming to a rest.

A Fluidampr wont reduce the shake. Remember, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Our Cummins is a beast. Lots of mass in motion... so when you shut it down, the Dodge shudders a bit....
