I would say that it should. Mine will downshift at 70mph. But any faster than that it will hold it in o/d.

yeah, then something is wrong. sometimes I can feel the ---correct me if Im wrong--- TV cable or shift cable going to the tranny kinda hung up. I can depress the pedal all the way and it seems to break it loose. Dosent do it all the time but when its hung up it shifts at high rpms untill I smash the pedal and break it loose again. almost like the cable is binding ??

i try to keep it in overdrive to pass someone. I have plenty of power in OD though to pass people. if i really need to get up and go i will let it downshift and then it will slip before it hits OD.

Aren't these "fly by wire" fuel injection.Meaning it's electronic, not cable?

Yeah what year is it? My '04 at work does the same thing. Sometimes while accelerating gradually it will rev high in first gear and almost feels like the gas pedal is stuck in one position until you goose it a little to get it to go down further and then the tranny shifts. I agree with you it feels like a linkage sticking. From what I understand 05 and up are electronic throttles but prior to that they have a cable. I can definately feel more vibration thru the pedal on the 04 and feel nothing on my 06
