Short Blocked

Hey all~
Took truck to the dealership to take advantage of the 'free work' of warranty.
Had a 'tick' that resembled a loose rocker arm.
Now I get a new short block after 30,100 miles due to a bad cam bearing?
Just wondering if I'm the only unfortunate one.

Did they check your valve clearance first? I've never heard of camshaft bearing going out on 5.9 diesels. Loose injector line clamps will sometimes give a ticking noise also. Good Luck

The lash was the immediate thing I figured it was.
They claimed it was 'fine'
They also claimed to check the injectors. But when I looked at the pistons of the old short block, the pattern on the 1 n 4 cylinder from the injector looked like CRAP! Then again, a regular 'buzz' test wont tell you the spray pattern is boogered.
Here again, I had never seen/heard of this problem with the little experience I have.

Thanks guys.
