Shock choice Question

I have been running Bilstien HD shocks on my rig, and at 130k on them they are starting to give up, I am running stock wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo open country A/T all stock for the most part. I have had good results from the Bilstiens but wanted to see if anyone has found another shock that deals with the heavy tires and trucks better.
Thanks, Mike

I know there may be others but so far the Bilstiens seem to be the best choice for a stock truck. I love mine and will buy them again for sure.

I HAD Monroes and Gabriels. When these die, it will be 5100's again.

Stock, Procomps and now B 5100's. Can't tell any difference no matter how much they cost! Next set will be $20 monroe's from rock auto.

Let's not kid ourselves, it's a truck with 35's... So I don't expect it to ride like my wife's Enclave. However, I have only changed from stock to Pro Comp 9000's in the front (stock rear) and they are junk! (The only reason I change the front ones is because I was getting DW and thought that I had a blown front shock...hadn't had any experience with DW before or info on the matter so I was desperate to solve the problem...)...but I digress.

DEF going with the Billstein 5100's when I change these out. Rode in my buddies truck with my same set-up and the 5100's & it's night and day difference...

I had the stock Bilstiens that came with the Off Road package. They held up well until about 80K. At 90K or so, I replaced them with Monroes. The Monroes are terrible. Just three weeks ago at 97K i replaced with the 5150's. The difference is night and day. I would recommend highly!

I run 33 inch ten plies - fairly comparable to a 35.

Another vote for the 5100's, have had other brands on my trucks in the past with Rancho, trailmaster being in the middle lasting somewhere around 35000 miles, procomps the worst (bushings failed on all 4 shocks within 10000 miles) The 5100's are the best for the money I have ever had, this set has about 50000 miles on them and they still work great.

I've got Bil yellow/blues on my truck, but the fronts are already squeaking and getting soft after only about 8K miles or so. When I ordered them I didn't realize my truck has a 2" leveling lift on the front, so the yellow/blues were a little short. I figured they'd be ok, since my driving is all on-road, but maybe not. Anyway, I'm a believer in Bilstein, so I'll put 5100s on the front when I change them out. The yellow/blues are fine on the rear.
