Question Shifty Auto??

Several times I have been going down hill with no load w/cruise control on when the trans decided to downshift. This only happens if I'm starting to go faster than the set speed.
I know the Allison and I'm told the new *ord is supposed to also, but What about the new heavy duty 4 sp. Dodges? Any Trans. Eficionados??

Thanks
Dan

Mine does it too - maybe if I get 5-8mph over what my cruise is set to, it will downshift to try to slow down the truck. I'm not sure what you mean about new heavy duty 4speeds, but I have the 48RE.

Mines' also a 48RE, but I hadn't heard it would actually try to downshift to slow the truck. Just curious....

Had an '02 Jeep liberty that would down shift if speed was 5-8 mph over the set cruise speed. I thought all DC products w/ auto's and CC did this so I wasn't surprised when my 04.5 did it either.

I was surprised to find out many other vehicles don't do it.
