Seeking differential/locker and gearing advice
My truck is a dedicated camper-hauler & tow vehicle. After a recent cross country trip over the rockies, I realize that my performance both up and down hill would have been significantly improved if I had 4.10's instead of my 3.73's.
Also I've gotten myself stuck a few times and now that I have made the decision to re-gear I need to decide what, if anything, do about my open differentials... It doesn't make sense to me to put the new gears in without upgrading the diff's to something that will improve traction.
I'm currently thinking about going with a TruTrac in the back and an E-locker in the front. Any thoughts on this combo?
I'll add that I already have onboard air, so I could go with ARB or OX lockers... I do spend plenty of time off-pavement, but my truck is not a "wheeler" so I don't think that these selectable lockers are worth the additional cost.
Thanks!
