Can any body explain to me why the rpms dont drop as fast in between shifts like the old models do? Whats a way to improve this or maybe there is something wrong with my truck. Thanks.

Re:RPM,s

It seems to be a result of the new Common Rail diesel system in our 3rd gen trucks. You will get RPM flares inbetween shifts due to the extreme fuel pressure. This is what some of the other members have said in the past, but i'm sure there will be others with different theories.

Re:RPM,s

I think it is to keep the rpms up so that the tranny is not shocked when up-shifting under heavy loads.
