Unhappy Rough Start White Smoke

OK guys, I had the rough start white smoke reflash in Aug 06. Well the last few days i have noticed in the morning (60 degress sunny) the truck starts and does not idle as smoothly as it used to and blows white smoke. It has also blown white smoke in the afternoons after work last friday and yesterday (around 80 degrees sunny). Friday afternoon I got fuel and bled
filter and have ran PS + MMO last two tanks. Fule Filter was changed 4500 miles ago.

Is anyone else seeing any of the symptoms since switch from winter blend ?
I guess i need to run this tank of fule out before taking it in so i do not get static bc of PS/MMO mix.

Yes, I will get sample of fuel before visit?

Any ideas.

Forgot to mention that idle seems ok after it warms and there is no more smoke either.

I had this happen in January on a trip trough Colorado. It was -2* at 7 AM when I started it up in Monte Vista. Cleared up once it warmed up.

Mine did the same thing, no matter what temp it blew white smoke untill warm. High idle cleared it up some, but as time went on it started coughing at idle when warm. Turned out to be a bad injector. Hope thats not the case but if it is you should get it diagnosed quick, and try not to drive it untill you are sure its not an injector.

if it is an injector ,... check your Engine OIL... make sure it is not filling your motor oil sump with fuel

I ran redline additive through mine and started getting white smoke and rough idle that would clear up after about 30 seconds.

I would bet if you changed your fuel filter again, it would clear up. Hell, I changed my fuel filter and jumped 2 mpg.

30 sec seems about right for the white smoke and idle. Ill change the filter tonight. This will be #3 filter in 18 miles, this is getting expensive. I will check the oil in the parking lot before i leave work.

My truck sometimes does the rough idle after a cold start up thing to
but I have noticed that if I shut it down and then re start it after a couple seconds ( after I hear the fuel pump stop) it is totally fine. or if I blip the throttle to 2000 rpm to clean it out it will return to idle normally.
I was thinking it might be air in the system or somthing. Just a guess

My truck had the same problem about 2 years ago. Root cause for mine was excessive idling I think. The idling causes the injectors to clog. This was the diaganois from the dealer. And I think they were right.

I ran Diesel Kleen for a few tanks. And just ran the truck harder for awhile... like pulling trailers and heavy accelerations up hills etc. Also I quit idling the truck alot.

I have no more issues with white smoke and rough idle at start-up.
